Light Wave is a two player game first installed at Long Island University Brooklyn Campus. The game consists of twenty three floor lamps, and two pedestals. Players use foam hammers to hit the pedestal - sending a signal through the lamps. The harder you hit the faster the signal goes. If players time it correctly, they can return the signal and prolong the rally. Of course the speed picks up each time it is hit until there is and eventual winner, and the game resets.
Light Wave uses an Arduino Mega, and three 8-channel solid state relay boards.
Light Wave was on view in "Sound and Space" at the MoMA Studio, and "Play: In three Acts", at the Beal Center for art and Technology.
